Uttar Pradesh government today suspended the superintendent of Dasna jail in Ghaziabad on a complaint of a woman who accused him of sending "undesirable" messages" to her on WhatsApp.

A probe was carried out by the district magistrate of Ghaziabad which prima facie found charges against Shiv Prakash Yadav to be true after which he was suspended, officials said.

"Yadav has been suspended after charges of sending 'awanchhaniya' (undesirable) messages to a woman on WhatsApp was found to be true in an internal probe," a Home department spokesman said.

During the suspension period, Yadav will be attached to office of Sampurnand Prison Training Institute, Lucknow.
