A Delhi-Goa IndiGo flight made emergency landing at the Ahmedabad airport this afternoon after a passenger allegedly misbehaved with a woman crew member and disregarded the safety rules, police said. The incident took place on IndiGo flight no 6E 329.

Sardarnagar police station arrested the passenger Rahul Grover (34), a Delhi-based businessman, after he was offloaded.

"The IndiGo flight going from Delhi to Goa was diverted here for emergency landing due to the behaviour of Grover. The crew member, who lodged a complaint with us, alleged that Grover misbehaved with her, passed lewd comments and used foul language," said inspector V R Patel.

The airline said in a press release that Grover refused to follow safety rules despite several warnings by the captain.

"He used foul language, made inappropriate gestures and even entered the lavatory knowing that a crew member is inside," said the statement.

"In the interest of safety of 156 passengers and crew members, the captain offloaded the passenger at Ahmedabad airport," it added.

Police registered an FIR against him. Later he was released him on bail.
