Senior BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti on Friday met Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, the main accused in the Malegaon blast case, at the Central Jail here.
Alleging that "the Maharashtra ATS tortured her" and that "she has not been able to recover from it", Bharti said, "She has problem walking on her own. There are apprehensions that she may be suffering from cancer." Bharti told reporters after meeting her in the jail.
Bharti said she was praying that ultimately her innocence would be proved in the court. Pragya is an accused in the Malegaon bomb blast that took place on September 29, 2008, in which six persons were killed and about 100 others injured.
