Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday said that he is not upset with prime minister Narendra Modi, but wants Sena MPs to get portfolios which will enable direct touch with people so that they can share the responsibility of bringing about change in the country.

"Yes, I definitely want my MPs to get better portfolios so that Shiv Sena's work can shine. We want to shoulder the responsibility of the change which Modi has planned for the country," said Uddhav Thackeray.
When asked why he let loose later, after announcing that he will not attend the oath taking ceremony and tried to create pressure on Modi, Thackeray said, "The mandate people have given clearly suggest that the Modi government is the last hope for the country and that the public expects some change in the system. We (Sena) are proud to be a NDA ally and want to be part of this change. I never wanted to become spoilsport on the auspicious day of oath taking of the new government, hence did not create any pressure tactics and asked our MP Anant Geete to take oath," Thackeray said, adding that he has faith in Modi and the telephonic conversation with him on Wednesday was positive. Explaining his demand, Thackeray said, "Maharashtra has a huge share in the country's development and any portfolio that has direct reach with citizens' life should be given to us."
He refused to accept that the Shiv Sena has mellowed down and that BJP behaves like a big brother in the state after Modi's victory. However, when asked about seat sharing between the two saffron alliances and which party would have the chief minister's chair in it's kitty, Thackeray avoided the question saying, "Let us (Sena-BJP) first discuss about it and then I will have something to say."
