At a time when Shiv Sena is toeing the fine line between being an alliance partners and also vehemently opposing the  BJP government in the state and Centre, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar has claimed that Sena chief Uddhav had met him at his residence ten days ago.

Pawar was quoted saying by Firstpost.com that Uddhav Thackeray met the NCP chief at his Mumbai residence to seek his advice. Pawar said that Thackeray had reached out to him to seek advice on the saffron wave in Maharashtra.Pawar told reporters that he asked Sena chief to make their position clear in the state assembly following which NCP would also do  likewise.

Earlier in the day, Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray had defended Sena’s vocal criticism of their alliance partner.

He had written: “No one would like to be an opposition in government. One would be happier defending the government, if it is morally defensible anymore.” Aaditya wrote that Sena would have kept the criticism behind closed doors if the BJP listened but since that didn’t happen, Sena were forced to voice their opinion publicly.

Earlier, Shiv Sena chief along with his son Aaditya Thackeray had recently met TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Uddhav had hailed Mamata as a ‘tigress’ for delimitating communists in her state, something the Congress and BJP had failed to do.

"Some of the stands by Mamata Banerjee may be controversial, and some of them may not match with that of the Sena's. But in her state, she decimated the communists, against whom the Shiv Sena has always fought. "The tigress did what the Congress and the BJP could not do. She brought to an end the 25-long rule of the communists," the Sena said in an editorial in the party mouthpiece 'Saamana'.

"For doing so, she did not have to tamper with the EVM machines or buy votes. People gave her the responsibility to lead the state with a lot of trust. But attempts are now being made to stall development and create financial problems in West Bengal.
