Police on Sunday arrested two Madhya Pradesh residents for allegedly spying for Pakistan in Cantonment area Ferozepur. Shiv Narayan and Arjun, residents of Khukhrian village near Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, were nabbed from a guest house, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vibhor Kumar, said.

He said that the accused were in "regular touch with their Pakistani friends on Internet". They landed in the police net when the owner of the guest house, where they were staying for the last few days, got suspicious over their antecedents and informed the police, the officer said.

The DSP said that the arrested persons had called on a Pakistani number at least 15-20 times. Police also found that an amount of Rs 12,000 was transferred to them through money gram from Pakistan.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sukhwant Singh Gill said, "A case under Section 121 A (Waging, or attempting to wage war, or abetting waging of war, against the Government of India) and 11 (wildlife act) has been registered against the accused, who have been arrested on charges of spying." Police also recovered scorpions from their possession which they wanted to hand over to some local contact, who did not turn up to receive it, the SSP said.

As per preliminary investigations, it had been confirmed the accused were conducting reconnaissance of the area and had also visited Indo-Pakistan Joint Check Post at Hussaniwala twice during last week, he said.
