Two kids charred to death in fire at Saikheda village in Betul

Two kids of a family were today charred to death in a fire that broke out at a house in Saikheda village, some 35 kms from here, police said.

Saloni (13) and her brother Ravindra (6), who were watching television when the fire broke out, could not come out of their house resulting in their death, said Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Jyoti Umath.

They are children of a person identified as Dinu, said police.

Umath said that initial investigations suggest that the fire broke out due to a short circuit.

Dinu's house as well as that of their neighbour was reduced to ashes in the fire, said Umath.

Collector Saurabh Kumar Suman has announced a financial help of Rs 20,000 to the family of the deceased.
