Two IIT-Kharagpur students drown at West Bengal's Digha beach

Two students of IIT-Kharagpur died on Sunday after being swept away by a high tide at New Digha sea beach while taking bath, the police said. 

The incident occurred at around 11 am, when six of the students from the institute had gone to bathe in the sea, and two of them got washed away in the high tide, they said. The bodies of Anirudh Raju studying aerospace engineering and Rohit Tripathy of the civil engineering department, both fourth-year students, were found later in the day. 

All six students drove from Kharagpur to Digha in the morning and straightaway went to the beach where the incident later happened, the police said, adding, that no foul play was found, though they were examining the version of the surviving students.
