Two cases of suicides have been reported in Nashik on Tuesday. In both the cases, the deceased have hanged themselves to death.
A case of accidental death has been filed at Deolali police station after the wife of an army personnel committed suicide on Monday night. According to the police, Ajita Guruswami Gowda, 24, wife of Lance Naik (L/Nk) Guruswami Gowda, ended her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in the army quarters at Umrao Vihar in Deolali Camp. The incident happened around 10.30pm. Ajita was rushed to the military hospital where she was declared brought dead.
L/Nk Gowda, who hails from Karnataka, is working with the 11 Field Regiment stationed at Deolali. Sources said the couple had an argument earlier in the day. They have a one and a half-year-old son.
In another incident, a 23-year-old engineer committed suicide by hanging himself from a cement beam of an under-construction building in Satpur.
The youth, Pankaj Kumar, who hailed from Pokaru in Jharkhand, was residing in the Mahatma Nagar area of Nashik. He was working as a trainee engineer in a company in Satpur MIDC. Satpur police said that his body was sent to Nashik civil hospital for post mortem.
The police are investigating the case.
