Twitter lauds courage of army officer attending martyred IAF wing commander husband’s funeral with 5-day-old baby

India is lauding Major Kumud Dogra, the iron lady who has shown an exemplary courage in one of the toughest, heartbreaking moments of her life as a wife and a young mother. 

Major Dogra’s picture with her 5-day-old daughter attending her husband’s funeral has left many teary-eyed.

Her husband, Wing Commander Dushyant Vats was killed in a chopper carsh in Assam’s Majuli on February 16. 

Dressed in full army uniform, Major Dogra stoically carried her baby to the funeral ground. Her photo has gone viral with many saluting the young army officer for her courage. 

 

‘Major Kumud Dogra on her way to pay last tributes to her husband Wing Commander D Vats who lost his life in a microflight crash in Majuli. She is seen carrying her daughter who is only 5 days old. The handsome officer didn't get to meet his newborn daughter,’ Facebook Page called Indian Defence said.

 

‘Unable to get over these images of #MajorKumudDogra walking to her husband Wg Cdr #DushyantVats’s funeral with their 5-day old baby in her arms. He saw once bt nw will never get to meet his daughter. Speechless. This is what the #IndianArmy & #IndianAirForce does for the country,’ Twitter user Rupil Dev Lamsar said. 

There were many who sent out love to the baby too.
