The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday staged a protest outside the official residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the latter's reported inaction with regard to the Turkman Gate road rage case. The Delhi Police resorted to using water cannons to disperse the protesters, which included the BJP Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay.

"We had decided that as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in opposition, we would provide Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with constructive help. We gave them two months with the thought that they would fulfil their promises made to the public. But the kind of 'gundagardi'...our fight is not with the police," Upadhyay told the media.

"The police has done its work by arresting all the five culprits in the case. The AAP had promised that they would not encourage any immoral acts like this," he added. On Wednesday, three persons arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the death of a 38-year-old man in a road rage incident in Turkman Gate area were sent to 14 days judicial custody.

Shahnawaz, the deceased, was returning home on his motorcycle along with his two children on Sunday, when he was beaten to death after a minor accident in Turkman Gate area.

He was taken to LNJP hospital following the incident, but was declared brought dead.
