Truck loses control, claims two lives

In a horrific accident that took place on Sunday morning, a father and his son lost their lives. Two others were also grievously injured. While one person lost his leg, another was in serious condition. The accident took place near the Taluka border of Pernem in Goa.

The accident occurred when a truck carrying railway track material lost control and hit an autorickshaw and a mini bus. The tracks fell on six two-wheeler bikes parked along the Banda-Panaji highway. Sixty-year-old Mohan Parsekar and his son Ritesh, 30, sitting on one of the bikes, died on the spot. Mahadev Bavkar, 18, lost his leg whereas 16-year-old Sujay Shinde is seriously injured. Both Mahadev and Sujay are from Sateli village in Maharashtra. The driver of the truck immediately fled from the spot. The police are now on the look out for him. Both the injured persons have been shifted to Goa Medical College for treatment.
