Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Friday said while the prices of essential commodities were rising and the value of rupee was declining, the BJP-led Union Government was working only for the moneyed class.

"The BJP-led Union Government is taking care of rich people, more particularly the landlords and the corporate houses," Sarkar said, speaking at the first conference of Telangana Agricultural Workers' Union here.

"RSS is the heart of BJP. RSS has come down on the streets and started voicing the slogan 'those who are not Hindus they shall have to be converted to Hinduism'," the CPI(M) leader alleged.

Recalling the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign promise of stopping corruption, Sarkar alleged that corruption had continued at the Centre as well as in the states ruled by BJP.

Crisis in agricultural sector was deepening and suicides by farmers had increased, he alleged.

Telangana too needed an alternative to the established political parties such as Congress, BJP and the ruling TRS, he said.
