A year ahead of Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, state BJP President today asserted that her party will not forge an alliance with the ruling AIADMK for the polls.

"We oppose the AIADMK and will have no truck with that party for elections and our party is the upcoming alternative force in Tamil Nadu," state BJP President Tamilisai Soundararajan told PTI.

"We are consistent in our stand. Be it last year's civic bypolls or the Srirangam by-election, we have fought against the ruling AIADMK and this will continue," she said in reply to a query.

Stating that "some people try to thrust their opinion on us as if the BJP was trying to go for an alliance with the AIADMK," she said, "I cannot be responsible for such views."

"Our party is the upcoming alternative force in Tamil Nadu and both the ruling AIADMK and DMK are corrupt and both parties used money power to woo voters during Srirangam bypolls," she alleged.

"We have been consistent against corruption and we will not deviate from our path," she said.

Hitting out at the DMK, she said "it is sad that Kalaignar (DMK chief Karunanidhi) is trying to create an impression as if the Centre is trying to influence judiciary in the disproportionate assets case being faced by AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa."

"This is condemnable, blatantly false and tantamount to insulting the judiciary," she said.

The BJP is concentrating in its membership enrolment drive in Tamil Nadu, and "will try and achieve good results by the end of deadline which is April 30," she said.

So far, the saffron party has enrolled 33 lakh members through the "missed call" drive in Tamil Nadu, she said.
