Tirumala to get a 3D virtual gallery

The devotees and visitors of world's richest, Lord Balaji will now get a three dimensional experience. The devotees of the Lord are looking forward for this virtual experience and have expressed their happiness over the project.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam's (TTD) soon to be unveiled 3D virtual gallery will cost around Rs 8 crore, and the project is sponsored by the Bangalore based software company Map Systems.

Anil Kumar Singhal, TTD executive officer, IAS, said that the first phase is slated to be launched before Brahmotsavam (annual fest) which will start from September 30.

This gallery will be set up on the ground floor, with overall area of 24,750 sq ft approximately. The first phase will comprise three themes. The temple experience theme will give the pilgrims live experience of walking into the temple premises and will give information about its rich history and heritage. The Garbhagruha (sanctum) will give piligrim the divine 3D experience of the main Balaji idol.

Secondly, in the Aritha Sevas (daily poojas) section, the pilgrims can watch 13 kinds of different poojas from dawn to midnight. The third section, Tirumala environment will take the visitors on a virtual tour of seven Tirumala hills, unexplored waterfalls, wilderness and link them with puranas and tirthas.

Tirumala world's largest and richest pilgrimage site is visited by pilgrims from across the globe. Everyday about 90,000 to 1 lakh devotees visit place and seek the blessings. The pilgrims wait for almost 48 hours for their turn to get the darshan.
