Three die of dengue in Lucknow

Three persons, including a fire department personnel, died due to dengue at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in the state capital.

Three persons, including a fire department personnel, died due to dengue at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in the state capital, officials said here today.

Three persons, including a fire department constable Dhirendra Kumar, 35, who were undergoing treatment for dengue at SGPGIMS, died yesterday, they said.

Dhirendra, who was posted at fire station Hazratganj, was undergoing treatment at his native place in Allahabad.

Dhirendra was referred to SGPGIMS yesterday after his condition deteriorated. He died within an hour of admission, they said.

The two other victims are Vijay Gupta of Malihabad and Akash of Kannauj.

Meanwhile, principal secretary (medical and health) Pradeep Shukla along with other health department officials visited Balrampur, Civil and Lohia hospitals to take stock of the situation.

During his visit the principal secretary reviewed facility of pathological examination and availability of beds for the patients.

Over a dozen fresh cases of dengue like symptoms were reported from different hospitals in the city.
