Police today registered a case and began investigations into a threat letter received by renowned Malayalam author K P Ramanunni warning him of dire consequences if he did not convert to Islam.

The letter sent to Ramanunni's Kozhikode residence seven days ago had stated that his right arm and left leg would be chopped off if he did not convert to Islam within six months.

"A case was registered and investigation has begun into the incident..But, I cannot say right now who is behind the act...It is a blind...anonymous letter," City Police Commissioner, Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar, told
