This is not Gujarat Model, but 'toffee' model: Rahul Gandhi mocks Narendra Modi's development agenda

Addressing a rally in Latur, Maharashtra, today, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, mocked Gujarat's development model calling it a "toffee model".

"You get a toffee at Re 1, but Modi gave away 44000 acre land at Rs 1 per metre," Rahul accused. "This is not Gujarat Model, this is toffee model," he proclaimed.

Further criticising the BJP prime ministerial candidate, he added, "Tata can get a loan for 20 years with just 1% interest, while farmers have to bear 12% interest."

He also raised issues of women empowerment, saying, "BJP talks about empowering women, but they beat, harass, stalk women. When they do not respect women, how can they protect?"

He even revived the accusations of BJP having "copied" the Congress manifesto. "We went out to the public for suggestions to draft Congress's manifesto, whereas BJP copied our manifesto with ease," he said.
