Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday lashed out at electronic media for 'portraying all Kashmiri youths as stone pelters and militant sympathisers'.

Addressing a youth exchange programme of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) here, Mehbooba Mufti said, 'Kashmiri boys and girls have been working tirelessly from morning to evening to make their careers, but our electronic media don't see it. They have created an impression that every youth in Kashmir is a stone pelter or sympathiser of militants.'

Continuing her tirade against the electronic media, she said, 'They (electronic media) wait for Fridays when after Namaz they could spot a flag (Pakistani flag) so that they can debate over it in their shows.'

Jammu and Kashmir has been going through a turmoil, which primarily started when Hizbul Mujahideen local commander Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter with the security forces in July last year in Bumdoora village of Anantnag district of the state.

Recently, reports have confirmed that Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) has been sending huge amount of money through its stooges in India to fuel the anti-India unrest in Kashmir Valley.
Security agencies and experts claim that all stone pelting Kashmiri youth are 'paid' by Kashmiri Separatists and pro-Pakistan elements.
