The confusion between choosing the right Jarnail Singh in West Delhi

In what could only be a called a massive coincidence, voters of the West Delhi constituency in the national capital have to chose between three different Jarnail Singhs.

While two of the Jarnail Singhs are standing as independents, the third is the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for the constituency.

AAP’s Jarnail Singh had earlier hurled a shoe at the then Union Home Minister P Chidambaram for giving a Congress ticket to Sajjan Kumar.

Interestingly, the AAP had earlier written to the Election Commission about the similarity of party symbols, as they can seem confusing to the electorate. The symbol for one of the independent candidates, Jarnail Singh was a torch with rays of lights, and it closely resembles that of the AAP’s broom. The EC rectified the symbol by removing the rays.

The other Jarnail Singh has a shuttlecock as his symbol.
