Thane: Minor girl repeatedly raped by stepfather for three years

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped over and over again since 2012 by her stepfather who has been arrested on Sunday, police said in Thane.

The 34-year-old accused who works as a rickshaw driver in Dombivali was arrested earlier today, PSI Vaishali Bhosle of the Vishnu Nagar police station said.

According to the complaint lodged by the victim last night, the accused who resides with his family in Thakur Wadi locality, raped her repeatedly between 2012 and December 2014.

The accused has been charged under IPC sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and also under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, Bhosle said. Further investigation into the case is on.
