After the initial analysis of the Hyderabad blasts that occurred on Thursday evening, authorities have found that the blasts appeared to be the handiwork of the Indian Mujahideen (IM).
The usage of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), ammonium nitrate and the modus operandi indicates the blasts to be the act of the Indian Mujahideen.
The Anti-Terror Squad of Maharashtra, after these blasts revealed the terror cell of the Indian Mujahideen.
Here are the names of those who are very important members of the IM:
Riyaz Bhatkal
He is the founder of the Indian Mujahideen and is actively involved in the recruitment and training of youth in terrorist activities. He has good contacts with the LeT, Jem and the HuJI. He also receives funds from official agencies in Pakistan. Sources say that he is currently hiding in Pakistan and is carrying out all activities via the other IM operatives.
His two brothers, namely, Yasin and Iqbal Bhatkal are also a key part of the IM and carry out Riyaz's orders. They are currently on the list of the Pakistan Interpol.
Syed Maqbool
He joined the IM in April 2012, was arrested and locked up in the Tihar jail in October 2012. He is said to have recced the Hyderabad blast site in 2012 itself under Riyaz's orders.
Ariz Khan
He was involved in the Delhi blasts that occurred in 2008.
Imraan Khan
He is an IM operative and is involved with the fidayadeen (suicide squads).
Abu Rashid
He is a key member of the IM and is currently off the radar and on the run. There are no current reports about his whereabouts.
Asad Khan
He is Involved in the fidayadeen and, on Riyaz Bhatkal's orders, carried out the recce from the outside at the site.
Tahseen Akhtar, Asadullah Akhtar and Waqas Ahmed were actively involved in the Dadar blasts of 2011. They planted the bombs in Zaveri Bazaar, Opera house and the Pune Jungli Maharaj area. They are in close contact with all the Bhatkal brothers.
This is the known terror cell of the Indian Mujahideen. Sources say that a threat was received by the government from the IM but was not subsequently handled resulting in the lost of many lives.
