Four persons sustain injuries after minor accident between a bike and a car triggers violent clash between local residents.

Tension gripped Jalupura area on Sunday afternoon when two groups clashed following a minor accident between a bike and a car.

Four individuals sustained minor injuries in the clash.

The police were informed and additional forces were deployed in the area to avert any untoward incident.

According to police, the incident occurred near Nuraani Masjid in Jalupura.

“One Sajid, who lived near the mosque, was going towards the city in his car. While moving through a small alley, a biker allegedly came from one side and collided with the car. Both the vehicles were in slow speed that is why nobody sustained any serious injury,” said police.

However, an argument ensued between Sajid and the biker, identified as Rasheed.

“Rasheed and Sajid got into a verbal spat where they alleged that the other was driving rashly.

The spat turned violent and they started manhandling each other. As both were local residents, they were soon joined by their relatives. The two groups then clashed,” said police.

Seeing the matter going out of control, some local residents informed the police about the clash.

A police team was immediately sent to the spot.

“The team controlled the situation and talked to both the parties after which the tension in the area ended,” said police, adding, “Additional forces were deployed in the affected and nearby areas to avert any untoward incident.”
