Noted Telugu litterateur and poet Yagalla Ramakrishna died at his residence following prolonged illness, family sources said on Friday.
The end came on Wednesday. He was 68.
Ramakrishna founded the Yagalla foundation, which promote Telugu literature and felicated several literary personalities.
The veteran's body was donated to Rajeev Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Srikakulam as per his last wish for the benefit of medical students.
His wife Dr Padmavathi Ramakrishna informed about this to the Director of RIMS Dr DVVS Rama Murthy, who along with Associate Professor of Anatomy visited the house on Wednesday for embalming the body of Ramakrishna.
Ramakrishna was a close friend to Roads and Building Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao. A condolence meeting was held in the premises of RIMS.
