Telangana leaders unite to condemn knife attack Jagan Mohan Reddy

Leaders cutting across political affiliations condemned the attack Thursday on YSR congress leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was injured when he was attacked by a man with a small knife at the airport lounge in Visakhapatnam.

Telangana minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao strongly condemned the incident and demanded the culprits be punished.

"I wish him a speedy recovery," he tweeted.
All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi demanded a probe on any possible security lapses at Visakhapatnam Airport.

"How can a person bring a dagger inside the airport, and in a lounge, politicians are vulnerable with this new phenomenon of selfies," Owaisi tweeted.
Telangana Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy said those who believe in democracy should denounce such acts.

According to official sources, Jagan Mohan Reddy, the leader of the opposition in the Andhra Pradesh assembly, received a minor injury on his shoulder and is doing fine.
Police said the man approached Jagan for a selfie as the YSR Congress chief got up to leave the lounge to board the aircraft to Hyderabad.


He suddenly pulled out a small knife and attacked Jagan, injuring him on the left shoulder, it said.
