A 19-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by four men when she was returning home after attending UPSC coaching class in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal on Thursday. According to reports, all the four men took breaks for tea and gutka and repeatedly raped her for three hours.

Initially, three police stations refused to register her complaint even though both her parents are in police, reports the Times of India.

The incident took place around 10 p.m. in the vicinity of the Habibganj railway station when the four men abducted the woman.

Speaking to ANI, Government Railway Police (GRP) SP Anita Malviya said, "When the victim reached the desolate railway crossing, the four men dragged her under a culvert near the railway tracks and took turns to rape her before fleeing. They fled assuming the girl to be dead. The girl usually takes a bus while returning to her Vidisha residence, but that day she opted to take a train."

"On the basis of the complaint lodged by the woman, a case was registered at the GRP Police Station (Habibganj Railway Station) as the area where the crime occurred falls under their jurisdiction. They have been booked under sections 376 D (gang rape) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention)," she said.
