Teenage girl arrested for conspiring to kill prime witness in murder case of ex-MLA

A 19-year-old girl was arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with killing of Vipin Chaudhary who was a prime witness in ex-MLA Bharat Singh murder case of 29 March, 2015. The girl, who is a student in Outer Delhi area, had allegedly helped the assailants to lay a trap for Vipin.

Vipin Chaudhary, was earlier this week gunned down by four car borne assailants in what looked like a planned execution. According to police, the girl, identified as Alisha, befriended Vipin earlier this month on the directions of Aditya Shokeen, the nephew of Udaiveer, the main accused in the Bharat Singh murder case.

"On 8 December, the woman had called Vipin on the pretext of meeting her near Rithala Metro Station and passed this information to her friend Aditya Shokeen.

Vipin wanted to take the accused for a movie, but she convinced her meet her on an isolated stretch of road between Japani Park. There the suspects Vipin and Aditya were waiting for the couple." said DCP Outer District, Vikramjit Singh.

Aditya's family has a long running dispute with Bharat Singh over several issues, prominent among them being the ultimate control Outer Delhi's badlands. Bharat Singh, a former INLD legislator was shot dead in March this year when he was attending a religious function in West Delhi's Najafgarh area. Vipin, the driver of Singh, was the lone eye-witness to the case and had been instrumental for the arrest of Udaiveer. However the 23-year-old driver ran out of luck on December 8.

According to sources in Delhi police, Alisha was arrested after informers told police that they had spotted Vipin and the accused on a motor-cycle. "The accused told police that Vipin was shot dead right in front of her. According to her, Vipin was shocked on seeing Aditya and couldn't believe what was about to happen to him. The accused left as soon as Vipin was killed and so did the other accused," a source told dna.

The Police had been denying the involvement of any woman up till now and dismissed these reports as hearsay evidence. However the 19-year-old was finally was arrested by the Police on 10 December after she was traced to a PG hostel in Gurgaon, Haryana.

"The investigation is ongoing, the police are trying to trace of the whereabouts of Hemant and Aditya," the DCP added.

In the year 2002 Udaiveer's father Surajmal, his uncle Narayan Singh and his brother Sukhbir Singh were killed in Sonipat, Haryana and his family holds Bharat Singh's brother Krishan Pehalwan and his associates responsible for this murder. Pehalwan is a local strongman and has over dozen criminal cases against him.
