Hitting back at anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare and his team, the Congress Party on Tuesday said that now they should stop claiming that the Lokpal Bill proposed by them is perfect, and added that they must understand that in a democracy no one can claim that his suggestions are perfect.

Reacting to a question on the Select Committee's (Rajya Sabha) recommendation to bring the Prime Minister's Office under the purview of the Lokpal, Union Water Resource Minister Harish Rawat said: "It is a very important recommendation. The select committee has made numerous amendments in the bill proposed by the government. I would like to request team Anna that they should understand the Lokpal Bill is our initiative, Sonia Gandhi proposed the bill during our (Congress) Burari conference.

"We are ready to give them (Team-Anna) credit that due to their movement the bill is going to be concretize so quickly in such a short duration of time. But, they will have to understand that the Select committee has its own way to function and make recommendations" said Rawat

Earlier on Tuesday, Hazare said the government's Lokpal is fit to be thrown into dustbin only because in its present form it won't eradicate corruption and reiterated that only 'their-Lokpal' is capable enough to do that.
