TDP leader Sudarshan Akarapu passes away

Expressing grief over the sudden demise, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu said the former rendered selfless service to the poor and downtrodden.

Former Rajya Sabha member and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Vice President Akarapu Sudarshan on Wednesday died of heart attack in a private hospital in Hyderabad.

Hailing from Nalgonda district in Andhra Pradesh, Sudarshan was elected to the State Assembly in 1989 and 1994 from Suryapet constituency.

He also served as Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation between 1997-1999.

He was elected to Rajya Sabha in 2002 and served a full six year term. During his stint as MP, Sudarshan also served as a member on various parliamentary standing committees.

Expressing grief over the sudden demise, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu said the former rendered selfless service to the poor and downtrodden.

His death was a deep loss to TDP as well as people of Nalgonda district, Naidu added.

The TDP chief visited the hospital and paid homage to Sudarshan's body. Other TDP leaders held a meeting at NTR bhavan and condoled the former parliamentarian's death.
