Tanzil Ahmed murder case: Main accused Muneer arrested, questioning underway

The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police on Tuesday arrested the alleged mastermind in connection with the murder of slain NIA officer Tanzil Ahmed.

According to ANI, Muneer has been arrested and the questioning is underway.

Tanzil Ahmed was shot 21 times on April 3 by assailants on his way back from a wedding in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district.

Tanzil was declared dead at a nearby hospital soon after the incident. His wife Farzana succumbed to injuries a few days after Tanzil passed away.

Ahmed's 16-year-old daughter Zimnish and 14-year-old son Shahbaaz escaped unhurt.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Police had claimed to have solved the case by arresting two persons and contended that domestic dispute was the motive behind the crime.

Among the two arrested is nephew of Ahmed's brother-in-law Rehan.
