Tantrik kidnaps Palghar girl, confines and rapes her in Gujarat

The 20 years old girl was allegedly kidnapped and was taken to Bhilad in Gujarat were she was forced to marry a tantrik citing ill health and was repeatedly confined and raped.

A 20-year-old tribal girl from Palghar was allegedly kidnapped by a tantrik- a self claimed 'godman' and was confined and raped in a flat in Bhilad of Gujarat. The parents of the girl approached Mokhada police to complain after which police tracked down the girl and rescued her. The police have arrested 11 persons including the tantrik who forcefully married the girl citing treatment for her ill health.

According to Local Crime Branch, Tantrik Trimbak Muni Mangal Muni Das,26 was arrested by the Local Crime Branch from Trimbakeshwar in Nashik on Wednesday after the 20 years old girl reported the incident to the police. The girl in her complaint revealed that she was kidnapped from Palghar and was taken to Bhilad were she was forcefully married and was confined in the room since 15 April to 12 May without food and water and was repeatedly raped.

"After we received the complaint from the parents we managed to track down the girl and rescued her after which the girl filed a formal complaint. We traced down the 10 accused first who supported the tantrik in committing the crime", said a senior LCB officer.

"With human intelligence we traced the tantrik at Trimbakeshwar and he revealed that he had threatened the girl that he will sacrifice her head to the goddess Kaali if she revealed anything to her parents or approached the police", said the officer.

"We have also seized materials used in human sacrifice from him and we are investigating further", said the officer.

"We have arrested 11 persons under sections 363(kidnapping),366(Kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage, etc) ,376(rape) ,506(criminal intimidation),420(cheating),343(wrongful confinement for three or more days) and 120(b)(criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and under relevant sections of the The Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human sacrifice and other inhuman, Evil and Aghori practices and Black magic act.", said Ashok Honmane, Senior Inspector, Palghar LCB.

We will produce the tantrik in Jawhar court on Thursday and we will be seeking his police custody for verifying the sequence of events and to collect evidence against the accused involved in the case.", said Honmane.
