Tamil Nadu: Worker alleges human sacrifice by granite quarry owners, near Madurai

Legal Commissioner, U Sagayam, who was appointed by the High Court for the investigation of illegal granite mining in Madurai, ordered the exhumation of the bodies.

A graveyard in Mallampatti village near Melur, Madurai is thronging with authorities and people from the village after the bodies of four people were dug up on Sunday. M Sevakodiyon, who reportedly worked as a driver at PRP Granites, has alleged that the owners of PRP had performed a human sacrifice.

According to a report in The Hindu, the owners of the quarry made a human sacrifice of two mentally challenged persons in 1999 and buried them there. The police recovered the bones with clothes draped around them and sent them to forensics. 

It is yet to be determined whether it is human sacrifice, say the police.
