DMK Treasurer MK Stalin on Sunday addressed a public meeting at Kancheepuram near Chennai. Referring to the promises by DMK, the party treasurer said that they would take steps to ensure that a Lokayukta (anti-corruption body) was set up if the party was voted to power in the upcoming Assembly polls. The Hindu reported that Stalin also promised that DMK would enact the Right to Service Act.

The daily quotes him as saying that once the Lokayukta was established, there wouldn't be any corruption or commission or collection (in government). According to the report, Stalin also added, “We would make the state number one in the country. Youth and students would be our priority." DMK would also bring prohibition into effect in the state, he said.

Stalin just completed his Namakku Naame road show in all 234 Assembly constituencies. According to The Hindu, he said that people had various grievances and that it would take the current Chief Minister Jayalalithaa several years to list out all their grievances. Stalin was referring to the fact that the chief minister had said it would take her 36 days to list out the achievements of the 36 departments of her government.

Stalin also said that the AIADMK had not fulfilled its election promises and that, in fact, 50 of the 53 promises made were yet to be fulfilled, the daily reports.
