Tamil Nadu Law Minister C Ve Shanmugham on Thursday called actor Vijay and other associated with his latest movie ‘Sarkar’ terrorists for inciting people to take up violence through the his film by showing visuals of public throwing freebies given by the government into the fire.

“The actor’s movie has criticised the policies of the Tamil Nadu government. The movie is trying to instigate people to subscribe to violence by showing visuals of people throwing into freebies given by the government into the fire. Just like terrorist groups, including Naxalites, incite people to overthrow elected governments. This movie incites the people to act violently. We have doubts as to whether he (Vijay) has links with organisations that are trying to disturb peace in the state,” Shanmugham told reporters joining the chorus of AIADMK ministers and senior leaders opposing certain scenes that allegedly portrays the ruling party in a bad light.

A political thriller, ‘Sarkar’ had a massive opening in over 3000 screens across the world on November 6. The movie has run into trouble over the song in the movie where people are shown throwing freebies like mixers and grinders given by the ruling AIADMK government into the fire.
