Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Tuesday sought to downplay his statement, saying he has not made any allegations against anyone but merely referred to information provided to him by certain educationists. It added that in 2018 alone, people of Tamil Nadu had witnessed the arrest of a vice chancellor by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, raids and registration of cases against two VCs and unseating of a VC by the Madras High Court for irregularities in the observance of appointment procedures.
