Tamil Nadu Elections 2016: Captain Vijayakanth to contest from Ulundurpet constituency

In the 2011 elections, Vijayakanth was elected to the Tamil Nadu assembly from Rishvandhiyam constituency.

 DMDK leader  Captain Vijayakanth will fight the upcoming Assembly Elections in Tamil Nadu from Ulundurpet constituency. He is also the Chief Ministerial candidate.

It was stated earlier that Captain would start his electoral campaign after he releases the list of candidates names. Now it has been declared that he would contest from Ulundurpet constituency. The DMDK is contesting in 104 seats in the elections  this time round.

In the 2011 elections, Vijayakanth was elected to the Tamil Nadu assembly from Rishvandhiyam constituency.

The PWF alliance comprises DMDK, Vaiko-led MDMK and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi. Tamil Maanila Congress led by G K Vasan is also part of the PWF. The MDMK is contesting in 29 seats and Tamil Maanila Congress in 26.

VCK, CPI(M) and CPI are contesting in 25 seats each.

Political sources state that Vijayakanth is taking a calculated risk by going with the PWF alliance but it's going to be an uphill battle for them.
