DMK working President MK Stalin began the hunger strike on Wednesday to protest against the "illegal" trust vote won in Tamil Nadu assembly. DMK seniors leaders including himself are participating across the state, .

He had announced that his party would launch a state-wide hunger strike on Sunday. He called upon public to support the statewide hunger strike. This is the first step in this direction, he added

AIADMK's Palaniswami won a dramatic floor test last week, with the speaker throwing out opposition DMK members for violence and Congress legislators walking out of the House.

An FIR has been filed against Stalin for holding a protest against the events at Marina beach in Chennai.  

Stalin sat on a protest at the Marina along with his MLAs against the alleged attack on him and his party MLAs during the trust vote in the Assembly. 

Police said an FIR has been filed against them for unlawful assembly and violation of public order.
