Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edapadi K Palanisami on Saturday inaugurated the anointation ceremony of 100-year-old Muthalaman temple near Coonoor.
The anointation (Kumbhabhishekam) ceremony, normally performed every 12 years, was done after 40 years in this temple.
Palanisami inaugurated the ceremony by handing over a pot of holy water to the priest, for purifying the 'Kumbh' at the top of the temple.
HR an CE minister, Sevvoor S Ramachandran and Municipal Administration minister, S P Velumani, the district collector, Divya Innocent were among those present at the function.
