Swaraj said that she has asked Indian High Commission to renew Mohammadia Begum's Indian passport and facilitate her return to India.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is now coming to the rescue of an Indian woman who is allegedly ill-treated by her in-laws in Pakistan. Swaraj decided to extend helf after she received an SOS YouTube video.
Swaraj was approached by the woman's father to help her return to India. In a series of tweets, the Minister of External Affairs (MoEF) in a series of tweets said she has asked the Indian High Commission to renew the woman's Indian passport and facilitate her return to India.
Taking to micro-blogging website Twitter, Swaraj tweeted," I received a YouTube message from Shri Mohammad Akbar that his daughter Mohammadia Begum, an Indian national was married in Pakistan and was being ill-treated by her in-laws,"
She further added that the mission has sent a Note Verbale requesting the safety, security, and well-being of Mohammadia Begum.

According to CNN-News18.com, Mohammadia Begum, who is from Hyderabad, spoke to her mother Hajara Begum over the phone, and told her that her husband Muhammad Younis had hit her and locked her up in a room after the Indian High Commission officials met her.
The woman's mother revealed her daughter's husband even kept the children away and told them to stay afar as "she is Hindustani and all Hindustanis are Hindus.
The report also said that Hajara Begum was threatened she wouldn't be allowed to go back to India alive. Her husband, however has married another woman in Pakistan.
Mohammadia Begum married Muhammad Younis, who allegedly concealed his actual nationality and claimed to be from Oman, in 1996.
Mohammedi Begum and Younis have five children -- three sons and two daughters.
