Senior BJP leader and deputy chief minister of Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi has shifted to a temporary accommodation as he waits for his predecessor and RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav to vacate the bungalow reserved for the deputy CM of the state.
According to the arrangement made by the state building construction department after the National Democratic Alliance came to power in the state, Modi and Tejashwi had to swap residences, following which "bungalows" took centre-stage in Bihar politics.
Tejashwi had moved the court against the government order, but the Patna high court earlier this week directed him to vacate his official 5, Deshratna Marg bungalow, as per the vacation notice of the state government.
Modi, after moving out of his 1, Polo road residence, said Tejashwi should move out of his bungalow in the next 5-7 days. "I have not taken anything from my present residence and it is ready for the next person to move in. I have left everything so that my successor does not face any problems," he said.
Taking a jibe on Tejashwi, Modi said, "It is not good to keep fighting and have so much greed for government accommodation. Tejashwi is 29 years old and has 52 properties including 5 houses - 3 in Patna, 1 in Gopalganj and a sprawling 4-floor house in Delhi." The deputy CM said Tejashwi should have moved out of the deputy CM residence soon after his government was out of power.
In response, Tejashwi pointed his finger towards Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, whom he said had in his name no less than half-a-dozen government bungalows in Patna and Delhi. "For a family of just two people - 1 Anne Marg, 1A Marg, 7-Circular Road, 6-Circular Road, 4-Deshratna Marg and 6-Kamraj Lane in Delhi, have been allotted in Nitish's name," he said.
