The Supreme Court on Wednesday took a stand and said it would not tolerate any possibility of continuous blackmail of a gangrape victim and directed her alleged abusers to share password of laptops that contained the photos.
A bench of Justices SA Bobde and LN Rao directed the accused to share the iCloud account password with the victim. “You must give access to those photographs. If you have deleted, make sure they are not released. If not, give the password,” the court said.
“There are pictures of the girl with one of you. It is difficult for us to accept and tolerate continuous blackmail,” Justice SA Bobde told the counsels of the three accused of rape.
Two months ago, the apex court had cancelled the bail granted to Hardin Sikri, Karan Chhabra and Vikas Garg who were convicted of raping a student of OP Jindal university.
