The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition filed by Pramod Muthalik that sought permission to enter Goa.

The Bombay High Court had earlier banned Muthalik, the leader of a fringe outfit Sri Ram Sene, from entering Goa.

Pramod Muthalik had moved the Supreme Court against the Goa Government's decision to ban his entry into the state.

Muthalik had said that repeated prohibitory orders issued against him since last year violated his fundamental rights as he wanted to visit the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled state for religious purposes.

In his petition filed through advocate Vishnu Jain, he sought a stay order on the July order of the Bombay High Court?s Goa bench, which he described as ?oppressive, repressive, unjust, unfair, arbitrary and clearly an abuse of process of law for extraneous and political reasons.
