Sunanda Pushkar death probe: Delhi Police retrieves deleted texts from her electronic devices

Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Monday said that his force, working on the Sunanda Pushkar death case, has retrieved some deleted texts from her electronic devices.

"We have retrieved some deleted evidence from her blackberry, twitter and so on. We will see if there was any intentional deletion of texts or just a routine exercise. We had sent certain equipments to the forensic science lab and we have received them back along with the report of the forensic science experts," Bassi told the media.

"The evidence, which has come to light after the forensic examination of the equipment, is being analyzed," he added.

Bassi had earlier denied reports which had suggested that the Delhi Police have approached the Pakistan High Commission regarding the questioning of journalist Mehr Tarar.

Pushkar, who married Tharoor in 2010, had checked into The Leela Hotel in Chanakyapuri a day before her death on January 17, 2014. Tharoor's aides said the couple had checked into the luxury hotel because of renovation work at his New Delhi bungalow.

Prior to her death, Sunanda was embroiled in a spat with Tarar, whom she accused of stalking her husband.
