Summer placement at IIM-Indore: 156 companies offer jobs

Around 156 companies including 81 new recruiters evinced interest in summer placements of IIM-I.

450 participants in the PGP batch, one of the largest across IIMs, picked up diverse internship roles in sectors such as BFSI, Consulting, E-Commerce, FMCG and pharmaceuticals.

IIM-I placement officer Bhavya Kapoor told dna, “The highest domestic stipend offered for the eight week internship is Rs 1.5 lakh.”

IIM-I director N Ravichandran said, “The completion of summer placement for the class of 2013-15 is a testimony of our robust process and rigor in academics and emphasis on relevant management education.”  Sales & Marketing emerged as the most preferred function with 42% of the batch opting for roles here. The leading recruiters were AT Foods, Airtel, AkzoNobel, Dabur, Emami, HCCB, HUL, ITC, L’Oreal, Madura, Marico, PepsiCo, Philips, Pidilite, SABMiller, Tata Motors and Vodafone.

IIM-I played host to a large number of companies offering roles in the Finance function accounting for 15% of the total offers. Some of the prominent recruiters included American Express, Deutsche Bank, Edelweiss, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, ICICI, JP Morgan Chase, RBI, SEBI and TVS Capital Funds among others. A global asset management firm offered a role for its Mumbai office exclusively. Consulting roles were offered by Cognizant Business Consulting, Capgemini, Mindtree, Noesis Consulting, SKP Group and Wipro Consulting. General Management and Operations roles were offered by conglomerates such as General Electric, Mahindra, Reliance Industries, RPG and reputed companies such as Cummins, Genesis Colors, GMR Group, Jindal Steeland L&T.

All major pharmaceutical companies such as BoehringerIngelheim, Bristol-Myers Squibb, GSK Pharma and Janssen Pharma among others offering Marketing and Business Development roles participated.

Media and PR industry stalwarts such as Dainik Bhaskar, Ogilvy & Mather, PMG Asia and Sony Entertainment recruited. E-commerce emerged as a champion sector with offers made by companies such as eBay, Flipkart, Jabong, Shopclues. Exclusive internship offers were made by major Venture Capital firms.

Several participants keenly took up internship offers at Edupristine, which have been founded by IIM- I alumni.
