The low pressure area over north coastal Andhra
Pradesh and adjoining areas of south coastal Odisha and
westcentral Bay of Bengal lay over south Chhattisgarh and
neighbourhood, yesterday evening. It now lies as a well marked
low pressure area over southeast Vidarbha and neighbourhood.
Associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 9.5 kms a. s. l.
tilting southwestwards with height. The axis of monsoon trough
at mean sea level now runs through Phalodi, Udaipur, Indore,
centre of the above well marked low pressure area,
Kalingapatnam and thence east-southeastwards to eastcentral
Bay of Bengal. It extends upto 0.9 km a. s. l. A cyclonic
circulation extending between 2.1 & 5.8 kms a.s.l lies over
Arakan coast and neighbourhood. A cyclonic circulation
extending between 1.5 & 2.1 kms a.s.l lies over south Pakistan
and neighbourhood. The western disturbance as an upper air
cyclonic circulation at 3.1 kms a. s. l. over Jammu & Kashmir
and neighbourhood now lies over eastern parts of Jammu &
Kashmir and neighbourhood. It is moving away
east-northeastwards. The east-west shear zone roughly along
Lat.15 N has become less marked.
The southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Madhya
Maharashtra, Marathwada and Telangana and active over
Konkan & Goa, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema,
coastal & north interior Karnataka and Kerala. It has been
subdued over Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh and
west Rajasthan.
