Sukriti Gupta of Delhi secures first rank in CBSE XII exam

A total of 10,08,164 students registered for this year from all 10 regions. Out of this, 9,92,656 appeared and 8,24,355 passed with 83.05 pass percentage.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared its Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) XII 2016 results on Saturday.

Sukriti Gupta from Delhi, with 99.4%, secured the first place in the country. Palak Goyal of Haryana, with 99.2%, is in the second place. The third place was shared by Somya Uppal of Haryana, with 99%, Ajish Sekar of Chennai, with 99%.

A total of 10,08,164 students registered for this year from all 10 regions. Out of this, 9,92,656 appeared and 8,24,355 passed with 83.05 pass percentage.

Differently able students also did well this year. Out of the 2,136 who passed, 108 scored above 90% and 18 scored above 95% from all 10 regions. Visually impaired, hearing impaired, othropaedically impaired, spastic, dyslexic and autistic students formed this category. This year, 2,569 differently able students registered for the CBSE 12th board examination.

The first place in the category was secured by Mudita Jagota of Haryana, with 97%. The second place went to New Delhi student Siddhartha Biswas, with 96.8%. The third place went to Uttar Pradesh student Rakshit Malik (96.4%).

The highest pass percentage was registered by the Thiruvananthapuram region, with an overall pass percentage of 97.91%. The second place was bagged by Chennai region, which includes Maharashtra, with an overall pass percentage of 92.63%.

Maharashtra's pass percentage of 93.4% is higher than last year (91.94%). This time again, girls outscored boys, with a pass percentage of 95.03%. The pass percentage of boys was 92.19%.
