Sufferings of Kashmiri Pandits cannot be ignored: Narendra Modi

Monday, 2 December 2013 - 5:25pm IST | Agency: PTI

A day after he faced criticism for ignoring the cause of Kashmiri Pandits who migrated from the Valley due to rising terrorism, BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi today said no one can ignore their sufferings.

"No one can ignore sufferings of the Kashmiri Pandits for so many years. We remain committed to working towards justice for the community," Modi tweeted today after he came under attack from various Pandit groups and individuals for not speaking a word about the displaced community. The Kashmiri Pandit groups vented their anger over the cyberspace.

"He (Modi) has let us down," said one of the tweets by a group representing Kashmiri Pandits.

People from various walks of life tweeted that Modi should have made a mention of Kashmiri Pandits during his 30-minute speech in Jammu yesterday while some opined that his rally should be an eyeopener for Pandits who think highly of him.
