Sudipta Sen, 2 others sent to 9 days police custody in fresh case

Sen, Mukherjee and Chouhan, were arrested from Sonamarg in Kashmir valley on April 24 while they were on the run.

Sudipta Sen, the chairman of the Saradha Group which allegedly defrauded thousands of small investors, and two others, were today sent to nine days police custody in a fresh case by a Bidhanangar court.

Sen along with Saradha director Debjani Mukherjee and Arvind Singh Chouhan, who looked after the group's operations in Jharkhand, were produced before the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bidhanagar, AHM Rahman after the expiry of 14 days police custody.

The judicial magistrate sent them to police custody for nine days in another case.

Sen, Mukherjee and Chouhan, were arrested from Sonamarg in Kashmir valley on April 24 while they were on the run.

Later, while being taken from the court, Sen told reporters that he would speak after the investigation get over.

"I will speak. Wait for sometime. Let the investigation be over. I will speak," Sen said.

Sen had written a letter to CBI last month complaining against 22 persons, including two TMC MPs, who allegedly blackmailed his company for money.
