Subrata Roy involved his family members in running the Group and top-level decision making and virtually gave them complete control at various junctures, but they couldn't manage the big business empire well.

But, one person who has stood like a rock behind Roy is OP Srivastava, Deputy Managing Worker, and Roy's trusted lieutenant since he started from scratch in Gorakhpur in the 70s. A self-taught expert on banking and taxation, Srivastava is widely loved and respected among Saharians as a true mentor and father figure. There is a strong feeling within the organization that it's only "OP Sahab", as he is fondly known, who can now steer the group out of its present predicament.

Another factor that promises to stand the Sahara Group in good stead is the stature, reputation and personal connect that 'Saharashri', much-respected within the organisation, enjoys in the Group. Despite his wavered ways, squandering of company funds on Bollywood dos and rather quirky manner of conducting his business, a large part of the Sahara "family" virtually worships the chairman. The implicit faith and immense respect that Roy enjoys among the lakhs of employees is perhaps one of the most valuable assets Sahara can bank upon, even though it cannot be quantified in fiscal terms. The collective goodwill of the Sahara "family" that the mystical 'Saharashri' has created seems to be the only hope of redemption for the fallen idol.
