It appears that the BJP has had enough of Subramanian Swamy’s unguided missile attacks, and have moved fast to silence the outspoken Rajya Sabha MP. A report in Firstpost, claimed that a talk by Swamy at KC college in South Mumbai, that was scheduled for Saturday was cancelled following directive by party president Amit Shah.

Swamy was supposed to speak at KC College at an event to discuss the Emergency. A source close to a senior BJP leader told Firstpost: “The party president told Swamy not to go for the event because of heavy rains in Mumbai. However, the real reason was that the senior party leadership was miffed over his recent remarks over Jaitley. The party wanted to avoid a situation which could lead to further controversy,”

In fact, the report says, the leadership has directed Swamy shouldn’t be called for any public functions. Mumbai BJP head Ashish Shelar admitted the event had been cancelled but didn’t give the reason.

Earlier, after he attracted criticism over his "waiter" jibe,  Swamy made tongue-in-cheek remarks complimenting Jaitley for his "smart" looks and ticking off Robert Vadra, who spoke of the dignity of waiters. He said he did not target anybody and what he only wanted was politicians should not look like waiters. "The attire comment was not against anybody. I only said politicians should not look like waiters. There is nothing wrong in it (to wear such attires). I said they should not be mistaken...thats all," Swamy said in press conference. "I did not aim anybody. Actually Mr Jaitley looks very smart in the attire. He looks like an exception," he said.

Subramanian Swamy attacked RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, and later traded his missile on CEA Arvind Subramanian, forcing Arun Jaitley to come in defence of his colleagues in the Finance Ministry. Swamy has said that he possesses a list of 27 names he have to 'fix'.
